Is that Artificial Light at the End of the Tunnel?

PHEW . . .you're not finished yet, but you can see the end! If y'all take the time to look back at all you have accomplished this semester, you should be very proud of yourselves. I realize everyone probably feels overwhelmed. . .I just want to encourage you to keep going.

Assignments: I noticed that only 40 of my 61 students submitted a weblink for the Journals 6-10. . .please submit the same address as either a link or just type in the address. . .You still have the EdTechProfile, Spreadsheet, and Taskstream to finish. All past work is due this Friday!!!

Today & This Week: Monday you will finish your movies and iMovie software proficiency. On Wed, I would like to introduce Photoshop. . .so bring a .jpg of you or your family!

This week's question: Last week's questions seemed to confuse some of you. . .I am surprised by how the educational system has seemingly only taught us how to chase carrots; thereby, killing any intrisic motivation that we might have gained from book learnin'
To lighten things up a bit. . .tell me about your favorite assignment that you have completed in this class and why!

My favorite assignment this semester has been the kidspiration assignment. I found it very interesting and gave me a chance to create a really neat assignment for students. The simplicity and freedom you have in the program showed me how easy it was to use and incorporate into the classroom.

This semeseter my favorite assignment would probably be the newsletter. It had enough freedom to allow for individual creativity, as well as direction to complete each section of the assignment. Not only the balance in direction, but the actual assignment will prove to be useful in my future classrooms.

My favorite assignment would have to have been either the newsletter or the imovie. I've always wanted to learn how to edit video footage and now I know how. It's awesome! I think that photoshop will be my all time favorite though, can't wait until weds!

My favorite assignment from this class was designing my classroom newsletter. This was the most fun for me because I was able to be really creative with Word and come up with something that I could see myself using even before the first day of class!

My favorite asignment would have to be the imovie. I have always wondered about the editing of movies, how to slow it down, how to add music to it, and how to create/add ilustrations.

My favorite asssignment has to be the iMovie for sure. I feel that it is something that I have always wanted to learn how to use, and have never really been introduced to it. Now I am teaching other people how to edit footage and create movies! It was a lot of fun and really allowed us to be creative.

My favorite would have to be the newsletter. I recently got an office job, and having the skills to get information out in a visualy pleasing way has made the job that much more fun and rewarding!

My favorite assignment was the movie. Although it was a bit stressful being in a group and having so many ideas bouncing off of each other, it was fun being so creative and creating something that others can watch and be moved by.

Wierd as it may seem, I enjoyed the journal articles. The reason being, I learned a lot of cool things that are important for us prospective teachers. I'm encouraged by knowing that those of us proficiant in technology have an edge and an undertanding greater than the previous teachers. We are entering a new age in learning and teaching, and those of us leading the way have many exciting discoveries and experiences ahead of us.

My favorite assignment has been the one that involved Kidspiration. This software is a great tool because it allows educators to create projects that are very visually pleasing and organizes content material in various ways. I know that I will be it to make my classroom instruction more effective.

My favorite assignment this semester was the ability to create a lesson using Inspiration software. Another was creating a movie project then moving on to bigger and better things (actually creating a group movie). The freedom to create and learn these softwares, has given me great conffidence in myself of how well I understand my platform using MAC/PC.

I loved the movie assignment. It was great fun to brainstorm ideas, shoot and edit. I think our finished product is great (I may be biased). It was time-consuming but it will such an awesome tool in the classroom.

I really liked the kidspiration because it was totally new, and I have never done well at art, and I kinda thought that it made my artisitc ability look good! I also think it would be a great great great thing to incoroprate into the classroom!

My favorite assignment was the social justice movie that we did. I liked this because it was something i was proud of and would be willing to share it with others. There were other assignments that i was proud of but i don;t think other people would appreciate an excel spreadsheet as much as they would appreciate a movie.

My favorite assignment thus far is the imovie proficiency and Social Justice assignment.... it let me be creative and help me bring up fun ideas for the social justice, and perhaps something i can do in the near future ("my own" wedding montage, family events, etc.) Bottomline, it's making me like Mac computers more &more....I WANT ONE NOW.... oh yes I don't want to forget the Garage Band conference...awesome!

My favorite assignment that i've done for this class would have to be my class newsletter. It was pretty subjective and offered a lot of room for creativity. I loved being able to create it for any grade level of my choice, and how I got to personalize it with a colorful picture of myself :)

My favorite assignment this semester is the movie. I think this is a great assignment because there are just enough instructions to get you started, and then you get to use your imagination to complete the rest. I think that movies can be improved FOREVER, and I wish we had longer to work on them!!

I think that we have done many fun projects in this class. I really enjoyed Kidspiration, the PowerPoint and the Newsletter. I agree with other people and think that both the PowerPoint and the Newsletter had guidelines while leaving a lot of room for creativity. I love taking pictures/veiwing them on my computer, so I am looking forward to photoshop on Wednesday...

My favorite assignment this semester has been the Wikipedia. It really helped me see how many resources are out there. Through this assignmnet, I found three great websites I actually like my kids to play on and I found a site that gives good advice on laying out your day in class. I think what overwhelms me most with teaching is that my day won't be well planned out enough and the kids will overthrow me!

I definitely liked the iMovie project. I've always wanted to learn how to edit my skim footage and now I know how. Thanks Ed 422.

My favorite assignment this semester has been the iMovie. I liked it because I got to learn a totally new program(to me at least) and I got to work with a great classmate on the project.
I can't wait to learn Photoshop on Wednesday!

Hhhmm this is a tough question. It is hard for me to pick my favorite assignment. I would have to say the movies or the newsletter. I think these were my favorites because they are two things I have wanted to learn and had not previously had the time to, or the instruction/guidance to do so.

My favorite assignment so far throughout the entire semester would hands down be the NEWSLETTER! I had fun making it my own and I will use it with my classes in the future

My favorite project this semester was definitely the imovie. I love all aspects of movie making. It is a great feeling to just begin with some raw footage and an editing program and turn it into an impressive movie. I could spend so much time messing around on those things.

I'm really liking the movie I just finished. I've been wanting to learn this software and I really like the way that it turned out!

My favorite assignment has been the movie. I already knew how to make movies, but I was taught some other functions that I didn't know about.

My favorite assignment was the iMoive creation. I like this program and I am glad that I got the chance to learn how to use it. It has so many neat functions and possibilities. I will definalty use it again.

I think that my favorite assigment created so far would have to be either kidspiration or imovie! I have never worked with Mac before and I never knew how easy and fun it was to use the programs!! I think that both of these assigments are great for students to use in class.

My favorite assignment this semester should have been the movie projects. They had all the elements of a great assignment for a techie like me. I did get some satisfaction out of manipulating the clips and audio, but the timing, at the end of the semester was stressful for me. I wish I could enjoy myself more when there are deadlines and time is short. I worry that this is one of the things that makes one a great teacher – the ability to enjoy the NOW and be relaxed most of the time.

I had the most fun with the newsletter. To me, it was the most practical assignment and one that I can use in my classes on a regular basis.

My favorite assignment of the semester has to be the Kidspiration one. I liked it because there were no constraints. We could be as creative as we wanted and for me this assignment was the most FUN!!!!
